Get Off The Sidelines, Do Something Already

Kevin Sutton Show

People do care … and this makes me very happy.

I am always pleasantly surprised when people get out of their ‘comfort zone’ boxed life and try to make a change in the world.

People may know me as the sign waving, neighborhood clean-up, Girl Scout cookie selling ultimate community activist, but I have to tell you, the thing that makes me smile is when I see other people do the same.

I know it’s hard to get out there and be different, but as my mother always said, “if not you, then who?”

We can sit on the sidelines and watch the world go by or we can stand up and do something. Whether it’s participating in a marathon, becoming active in politics or even volunteering for a charity. You should try to do something where you make a sacrifice.

Go to a Presidential Rally and shake the President’s hand. Go hold a sign for a change in the law and if that’s too much, vote in the next election.  May sound small, but everything you do makes a change in the future.

I am very blessed with my life. I thank God for everything I have, but I hope that one day, my daughter, Faith, will try to be different and do more.

Hope y’all have a good one and tune in this week.
